Bee-Commerce has 8-Frame and 10-Frame Imirie Shims available to assist your honey bee hives for feeding. An Imirie shim is designed specifically to improve brood chamber congestion, which in turn helps to reduce swarming.
Shims are a versatile hive component used to create 1 1/2" space between the brood chamber and honey supers. This space can be used for feeding (fondant, dry sugar, pollen patties, and winter patties), or to allow introduction of medications.
What size is the Imirie Shim?
The Imirie Shim is a nice piece of equipment to have around. Its a 3/4-inch rectangular rim containing a 3/4-inch notch cut 3/8 -inch deep front middle.
