Bee reservations for Spring 2026 have started!

4/16/2026 - OHBees Package Bee Delivery Update

16th Apr 2026

Always subject to change, so stay tuned for more detail as we get closer, and re-check The Blog to be sure you’ve gotten the latest.

Carniolans, Italians, and Saskatraz from California are likely to arrive Tuesday April 21 or Tuesday April 28.
Did I mention - these dates are subject to change.

Final information for bee pickup days & hours will be posted on The Blog.

Gas will cost a LOT more than we'd budgeted.  If you are willing to kick a dollar or two per package to help us with that, we'd be grateful.

Packages must be picked up within 2 days of their arrival in Newtown.
If you cannot pick up your bees, get in touch with us ASAP to make arrangements.

Bee pickup days are busy and oftentimes crowded, and we try to streamline things to minimize congestion. If you’ve gotten bees from us before, you’re familiar. If this is your first time picking up bees from us, we ask you to consider the following.
Thanks in advance!

Pickup equipment ahead of the package bee arrival if at all possible. If you have back-ordered items to pick up, please do so as quickly as possible. Another time we will be happy to chat, but not on bee days.

Notice the signage and traffic cones placed to create pickup lanes in sort of a drive-thru arrangement. Please pull up in a lane and stay with your car. One of our staff will get your name and bring your packages to you.

Take a look at your packages before you leave. We do our best to ensure that the bees are in good shape, but you should check their condition and if you are unhappy with their condition we will swap them out.

If, when installing the bees, you find that the queen is dead in the package, go ahead and install the bees, leaving the queen in the cage in the hive with the bees. Then contact us to get a replacement queen. After that, we will have replacement queens available for purchase.

The queen cages come with a cork closure, which you will replace with a candy tube. Please be sure you get a candy tube for each package you’re picking up.
If you wind up at installation without a candy tube you can install the bees with the queen in the cage and cork intact. Replace with a candy tube - or a marshmallow - in a day or two.

When in doubt, check The Blog to be sure you’ve gotten the latest news.
